Stolen from basically everyone everywhere is the latest meme:

* Post ten of any pictures currently on your hard drive that you think are self-expressive.

* No captions. It must be like we're speaking with images and we have to interpret your visual language just like we have to interpret your words.

* They must ALREADY be on your hard drive - no googling or flickr! They have to have been saved to your folders sometime in the past. They must be something you've saved there because it resonated with you for some reason.

* You do NOT have to answer any questions about any of your pictures if you don't want to. You can make them as mysterious as you like. Or you can explain them away as much as you like.

So here's mine!

I don't have a whole lot of pictures on this computer, unfortunately, but I still feel like this is a solid collection of representational pictures.

So one night, after hours of trying to follow a amigurumi pattern and failing to even get started, I threw it away and just started doing something, not caring about trying to do anything that resembled any crocheting instructions I'd ever read.
Hi! I was feelin' sad last week after a doctor's appointment and so I made this to cheer me up. It worked and then I showed some people who I have mad respect for and they didn't make fun of it, so I'm trusting the internet here and sharing it with all of you. DON'T MAKE FUN OF ME INTERNET!!!

There's something real difficult about drawing something personal like this and then showing it to other people, especially since I made it for myself in 10 minutes and it's pretty ugly (oxymoron!). On the other hand, it's comforting to do so and then not have people be mean about it in any way. I recommend people doing this whenever they get sad and sharing it with good friends, especially if they didn't plan to share it with anyone at all. You'd be surprised how comforting it is. Just thinking about it gives me warm fuzzy feelings in my tummy! I know I'd love to see other peoples' "catharsis comics", since I'm nosy and I love learning anything I can about people and then telling them that it is okay to feel the way they expressed in their comic. It'd be a shiny, happy lovefest!

Hey dudes today is a sad day in Peteland. My older dog Stellar had to be put to sleep today. She had been sick for a long time and the vets couldn't figure out what was wrong with her. We suspect that it was bad food because my sister had to put her dog down just recently too for similar, mysterious symptoms. She was a very wonderful dog and was an old, sassy queenie. She did not like other dogs, except my sister's dog Bear, who had been around her all her life, and she was very sad when he was put to sleep and that just made her sickness much worse.

When I told my 7 year old niece the news, she took it very well and said, "Well, she's with Bear now. She loved him and he loved her." That is a pretty great thing for her to say, I think.

August 14, 1998 - November 24, 2007

Since all the cool kids are doing it, I will do this too. What is 'this'? Why, it is The Top Five Things That You Might Not Know About Me list! Let's do a LJ cut, just to keep things clean!

I will count down, just to shift the paradigms a little!

#5.) Every night before I hang upside-down on a inversion table for at least 10 minutes and do stretches. Often I listen to music like Grand Funk Railroad, or I watch shows like Good Times and All in the Family, which I am secretly addicted to for some reason. It is my nightly "Zen Time".

#4.) I do not drive, and have never gotten my license. I am perfectly comfortable with this, it's everyone else who seems to have a problem with it. I prefer walking and riding my scooter when I have to go places. I enjoy it a lot more than driving!

#3.) At my last job, I worked with a professional Frank Sinatra impersonator named Randy Fosburg. He went to Las Vegas to headline a show, and lived with Penn Jillete for a while when he was out there. I also worked with a lady with one leg (who one time stopped a thief in Walmart by tripping him with her prosthetic leg!), an ex-stripper, and a Desert Storm vet who looked just like a young Jack Black. Just like in my family, I was probably the most normal person on the team. That is saying a lot, I think!

#2.) Here is a kinda sad one! Three years ago, I got alopecia areata after a car accident and lost 90% of the hair on my head. About a year after it grew back, I was in a creative writing class with a social worker who was helping a 10 year old girl who had alopecia. When I told her my experience, she shared it with the little girl, who felt much better about herself after she heard it. That made me feel really great!

#1.) I am a huge giant monster fan of Queen, and have been for literally as long as I can remember. I was 8 when Freddy Mercury died, and I cried uncontrollably when I heard. I still get choked up to this day when I think about it. If you ever want to see me get sobby, get in a conversation with me about him! The sniffles will be uncontrollable!

There we go, finally I thought up five! Was that an interesting list? I hope so! It took me about 3 hours to think it up. I do not have many interesting things to share that people may not know about. Your money back guaranteed if you already knew about one of these!

Now I think I am going to go watch Jack Burton beat up some Magical Wackadoo Chinamen! Or maybe I will watch Old Elvis and Black JFK fight a mummy! I will have a hard time deciding!
