I gotta say you guys, Twitter is pissing off my shit. However I feel like a cheating spouse saying this because I am on that shit all the TIME. The thing is, it's fun but it is just the shittiest blog that ever existed. You cannot keep up with people on a Twitter page. If you go to their Twitter "blog" all there is is unimportant nonsense and half conversations with people you don't know. In fact the reason I am on there so much is BECAUSE it is so shitty. It has made it so hard for me to keep up with the people and artists I like that it makes me feel like I need to watch it all the time or I will miss something important and that is a shitty bag of balls. Maybe they made it that way on purpose?
Also it feels like it's sucking everyone away from their usual haunts where I used to keep up with them very well. You know how Walmart moves into town and suddenly local businesses go under because everyone is having so much fun shopping at Walmart? That is what Twitter is, it is the Walmart of blogs. |

Hi everybody. I hope everyone who celebrates Christmas had a good one.
I am sure most of you are already familiar with Child's Play. For those who are not, it is a charity set up by Gabe and Tycho from Penny Arcade. Its goal is to provide games, toys, and entertainment to children in hospitals. The charity is doing exceedingly well but there will always be more sick children and they will always need more donations.
I was a sick child myself. I spent a lot of time at Riley Children's Hospital in Indianapolis and thanks to their fantastic care I am here today, able to bring you these silly comics. But I know firsthand how rough it can be for a kid in the hospital with nothing to do. Tonight I discovered that Riley has a Child's Play Amazon Wishlist where anyone who wishes to do so can purchase an item and have it sent to the hospital.
I urge you to take a look at that list and see if there's something you might like to buy for a child. Or check out the Child's Play homepage to find a hospital that may be more significant to you, or click on that Paypal button to send in a donation. It doesn't have to be much; even a few dollars here and there will add up.
My sincere thanks to anyone who chooses to help in whatever way. Thank you for helping to bring a little bit of cheer into a painful experience. May the new year treat you well. Thanks for listening. |

I quite like this page a lot, and not just because there is a butt in it. I bet this is the best poo this dude will ever take. If I'm ever having trouble going to the bathroom I have Jess run into the room and start shooting a gun wildly at the floor and ceiling.
It helps!
Also, MERRY CHRISTMAS SMELLIES! |

| The Enigma of Amigara Fault |
[Dec. 23rd, 2009|11:55 am] |
Hey fellows, I found this comic online that is good and I wanted to share it
The Enigma of Amigara Fault by Junji Ito. He also did Uzumaki. Also there is this delightful little quote from wiki about him:
"Like fellow manga artist Shintaro Kago, Junji Ito's work is concerned with confronting and destroying the sacredness of the body." oof! What a quote! Shintaro Kago is also pretty awesome, heads up on that one!
Anyway, here is the link!

| Alert! |
[Dec. 23rd, 2009|12:22 am] |
My friend Emmy made a shocking discovery recently; someone in Japan is totally ripping off my comic! Fortunately she has a friend who knows a little bit of Japanese so he helped translate it into English. It's a little rough but it gets the idea across. Still, can you believe this?? Christmas nearer than before. If I am to understand time and it's passing correctly.
I will probably not be able to post comics on Thursday but I will try!
I hope everyone gets what they wanted and one thing they didn't want and one thing that in the future will end up contributing to their death.
"Another senseless Tickle Me Elmo death..."
Also: tedprior drew a drawing of the barbarian tromping through the swamp, check it out!

That frog is freaking DEAD! |

| Presents I made! |
[Dec. 22nd, 2009|03:23 pm] |
Here's a present I made for my Mom for xmas! A little tea lady, she is about 4 inches tall and made out of shrinky dink plastic. I drew her on the computer, printed her out and baked her. Her joints are fastened with tiny brads shaped like hearts. She can kick her little legs and move her arms to pour tea!

And here are some BOWIE earrings I made for a friend of mine:

and the original illustration:

Man if I didn't have a day job I would make this shit all the tiiiiiimmmeeee. |

| Electroconvulsive Therapy |
[Dec. 22nd, 2009|02:15 pm] |
I'm about to embark on the second volume of Psychiatric Tales, kicking off with the contentious subject of electroconvulsive therapy. My thoughts on this issue are somewhat confused. I worked at a psychiatric hospital for years and the ward I worked on had an electroconvulsive therapy suite attached. This suite was used once a week. I saw the process in action. I saw both the good and bad effects that ECT had on patients. My very unscientific observation was that the therapy had as much positive effect on people as it had none. I saw it bring people back from the depths of depression and I saw it have no effect at all. I saw it being used on patients you knew it would benefit, and I saw it being used on patients, simply because the psychiatrist in charge, having used all other options, couldn't think of anything else. Yes, it's a ghastly invasive technique, but put out of your mind any images you have of One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest. People aren't conscious during this procedure, nor do they have fits, as both muscle relaxants and anaesthesia are used. It could be seen as barbaric, but so could major surgery or organ transplant. All these medical techniques have downsides and don't work on everyone.
In dipping into the internet to start the process of research into this topic, I'm quite freaked by the amount of information there is. Sorting out the facts from the huge mass of contrasting scientific evidence, first-person experiences, and downright lies, is going to take some doing. Please feel free to give me you thoughts on this subject. |

Hey everyone! We're coming up on Christmas which is when I started my comic. I started sketching the barbarian and skeleton Christmas Eve 2007. Man. Anyway, new christmas coming up, can I trick my brain into coming up with a new idea? Maybe I should have asked for some motivation from Santa! |
